 ·       Nehemiah exhorts the people to remember that God is with them.

·       Nehemiah sets the example by setting the example of preparedness for service.

·       Visionaries write the vision to provide a guide for success for vision-carriers.

·       Like a 4x400 race, visions take skill, endurance and proper teamwork.

·       Vision quickens the resilience of vision-carriers. 

LESSON NOTES

 

1.     OBSTACLES ARE THINGS WE SEE WHEN WE LOSE FOCUS ON THE GOAL (Neh. 4:13-23)

a.     The People had a mind to work regardless of the opposition Neh. 4:1-6

b.     Nehemiah intervenes in debt, interest and bondage issues   Neh. 5:1-14

c.      The Wall is finished in 52 days despite multiple distractions  Neh. 6:1-18

Question #1 – What is your biggest obstacle from serving God with your whole heart?

Question #2 – Can you serve God with your whole heart if you are broken in other areas of life?

Question #3 – What do you think God’s people could accomplish in a short time period?

Question #4 – What do you want God to accomplish through you? How big is your vision?

 

2.     SUCCESSFUL VISIONARIES PROVIDE CLARITY TO THE VISION-CARRIERS (Hab. 2:1-4)

 a.     Vision inspires urgency and clarity to the reader                  Hab. 2:1-4

b.     Vision inspires endurance and assurance to the reader         Ezek. 12:24,25

c.      Vision inspires confidence and anticipation to the reader      James 5:7,8

Question #1 – How does God give you clarity for the vision He’s given you?

Question #2 – Do you have endurance/assurance God’s Word spoken will come to pass?

Question #3 – How can you encourage someone to have confidence in God? 

Question #4 – What distracts your ability to go all-in with God’s vision for your life?

3.     THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT ON GOD’S VISION FOR YOUR LIFE (Deut. 1:1-8)

 a.     Moses recounts God’s promise to Israel                               Deut. 1:1-8

b.     God guarantees victory over enemies to get the Promise      Josh. 12:1-24

c.      You can count on God…if He said it, believe it                       Gen. 12.1-3

 

Question #1 – Why is it so important to recall all the victories in Christ?

Question #2 – Does a victorious life mean you won’t have losses or disappointments?

Question #3 – What would you have done if you were Abraham? 

Question #4 – What has God instructed you to do that’s so monumental it makes you hesitate?
